Full-body Detoxification
With the IonCleanse® Footbath

Have you ever experienced something that you didn’t quite believe, even though you’d seen it with your own eyes?  So it was about six years ago when I first encountered the IonCleanse® detoxifying footbath.  Back then the system was called BioCleanse®.  A strange looking device, it consisted of an analog control unit that converted standard AC current to direct current.   Into this simple box with a switch and a fuse was plugged what looked like a large coil of thick copper wire.  The coil was immersed in a shallow tub of water along with the feet.  When powered on, this odd looking contraption did an amazing thing. 

The combination of direct current, salinity (the presence of mineral salts) and the particular metallic composition of the coil created a storm of ions in the water.  These ions entered the body through the submersed feet and reacted with free-radicals and other toxins held in the body, rendering them inert.  Through a process called dispersion (kind of the reverse of osmosis), the inert residue was expelled by the body into the water of the footbath. After about thirty minutes, my body felt lighter somehow, and the water contained all sorts of stuff.  The first time I experienced this procedure I was dumbfounded.  And I knew I had to find out more.

The technology has come a long way since then.  A few years back, the makers of the BioCleanse® unit at A Major Difference in Aurora Colorado did a radical re-engineering to produce what we now use in our complementary healing practices at Clear Horizons. Now called the IonCleanse®, the control unit is an interactive computer with a variety of electronic protocol options, and the bulky coil is now a rather sophisticated array of interlocking metallic plates.  The process works about the same, but the results are even more profound.  They vary, depending on the programmed electronic protocol and the selection from a choice of three types of array material. 

The “etheric” array seems to draw toxins and other stuff from general body systems, such as lymphatics, cholesterol, and the joint toxicity that accompanies arthritis. This array also seems to have a positive effect on conditions such as fibromyalgia, and we’ve used it with some success on autistic children.  The “organ cleanse”, as its name implies, appears to draw from specific organs such as the liver, kidneys and spleen.  And the “master cleanse”, a combination of different electrode materials in a single array, is kind of the turbocharged version.  We use different protocols and array selections for each of our clients at different times, depending on how they muscle test or on the type of program we have developed based on their experience.  

It is indeed a remarkable technology.  We make no claims to clients about what it will do for them, but they keep coming and keep reporting interesting and positive changes in their body and their life experience.  Quite often we’ll notice a particular looking substance in the water, such as the orange sedimentary stuff, and ask our clients if they have any joint issues.  Usually they say yes, and more often than not they report a reduction in pain either during or after the procedure.  We also sometimes get clues about toxic sources from the recognizable odors of such things as chlorine, paint, tobacco, household chemicals and the like.  This information can be helpful for understanding and improving our surroundings.  We learn a lot as we go, but maybe what our clients like best is when we wash their feet afterwards in that warm sudsy water of the rinse basin.

As with the technology, our practice has come a long way, too.  From the rudimentary beginning of serving clients using plastic tubs in my home, I decided that everything would be much easier and more comfortable if I built a sink into the floor and plumbed it directly. What a difference that made.  Today, at Clear Horizons clients enjoy a beautiful and expansive IonCleanse® facility called Atlantis, where they can come with friends, four at a time.  The far-infrared sauna seats four, too, and a few minutes in there is kind of like spending a few hours at the beach, except without the UV rays.  The far-infrared radiation also seems to help prepare the body for detoxification, and it helps to stimulate the production of endorphins – the “feel good” hormones.
